Hi Reader,
I want to share some exciting news with you! Living Simply Kitchen has a new home online at www.livingsimplykitchen.com. I am delighted to have a designated space to share my recipes, prairie-focused food writing & adventures, and post events & courses. The website remains a work in progress, but there are some great resources already available. Check out my favourite page: Simple Stuff: The Easiest, Most Doable Real Food for Any Day which showcases 5 nourishing, everyday recipes.
Take a look around while you're there, including this run down of custom services I provide as a Culinary Nutrition Guide: Begin Your Journey.
NEW LIVE SERIES ON INSTAGRAM: How I use local food bulk buying, CSAs and subscriptions to save time & money
I'm doing a 7 part series of short videos on bulk buying, CSA opportunities and subscriptions for Manitoban food produces that I participate in year around. I am often asked about sourcing local food, so I'm breaking down these ways that I simplify much of my buying & planning through subscriptions and bulk buying. These small commitments every year create big gains in our pantry and take the stress out of a lot of meal & grocery planning.
Yesterday I recorded Part 1: Adagio Acres Winter Grain CSA. I talk about what it is, how it works and answer some questions that you may be asking yourself. If you think you're 'not ready', I also bust some myths, talk about how to make it work for you and talk about how this bulk buying opportunity saves you money while providing a ton of organic, whole grains, seeds, legumes and oils for the whole year. Check out the Part 1 video here or go directly to view it on Instagram @livingsimplykitchen.
Lunch break! This series runs live on Instagram on Tuesdays at 12pm (recording is posted to IG following the live chat). Each week, I'll be talking briefly about one subscription of local products that I feel are game changers in how we do food. These are simple things with major impacts for you AND your community. The topic for next week? The how & why of local, pasture-raised chickens!
Thank you for joining me on this ride and in your kitchens. I am so grateful for the support from you as LSK continues to evolve.
Warmly,
Elizabeth

So, I've rounded up some ideas for you: Breakfast: Instead of plain scrambled eggs, make an omelet, add chopped onions, spinach, mushrooms, and peppers. Serve with a drizzle of hot sauce. If you have some leftover yams or sweet potatoes from supper, mash them up and cook them in with your...
